On Monday 26 November, the UK Climate Projections 2018 (UKCP18) was published. This is the first major update of climate projections in nearly 10 years, illustrating a range of future climate scenarios.
UKCP18 has been developed by the Met Office Hadley Centre, in partnership with Defra, BEIS, the Devolved Administrations and the Environment Agency.
This event was an opportunity to get more detail on the projections which were released earlier in the day. The panellists also talked about how they will be used by decision-makers, businesses, local authorities and individuals to plan for a future climate.
Speakers:
Prof Stephen Belcher, Met Office Chief Scientist
Prof Ian Boyd, Defra’s Chief Scientific Adviser
Dr Glenn Watts, Environment Agency’s Deputy Director for Evidence
Liz Parkes, Environment Agency’s Deputy Director for Climate Change
