This final quarterly report from Dr Raghib Ali, the government’s independent adviser on COVID-19 and ethnicity, brings together, for the first time, a comprehensive review of all the evidence and data published to date on Covid and ethnicity.
It includes new data on ethnic minority perceptions of the pandemic as well as a synthesis analysis to explain why the likelihood of mortality and infection has been higher in some ethnic groups – and why it has reversed their previous overall mortality advantage compared to Whites.
Journalists dialled into this briefing to hear Dr Ali present the report and answer any questions.
Speakers included:
Dr Raghib Ali, Senior Clinical Research Associate in the MRC Epidemiology Unit at the University of Cambridge, Honorary Consultant in Acute Medicine, Oxford University Hospitals NHS Trust, and Honorary Consultant, Office for Health Improvement and Disparities.
This Briefing was accompanied by an SMC Roundup of Comments.
