The annual update on global carbon emissions and carbon sinks has been released by The Global Carbon Project. The report compares global carbon emissions for 2020 to previous years. It examines recent trends in emissions from coal/gas/oil use and other sources (e.g. deforestation) and in atmospheric concentrations. It looks at the effect of COVID-19 restrictions on emissions, and comments on progress in tackling global emissions since the Paris climate Agreement was adopted in 2015.
The Global Carbon Budget 2020 is published in Earth System Science Data.
