In the UK, recent decades have been warmer, wetter and sunnier than the 20th century average. The State of the UK Climate 2020 report examines the UK’s climate in 2020 and how it compares to previous years.
The paper has been published in The Royal Meteorological Society’s International Journal of Climatology.
Journalists came to this briefing to hear from the key organisations behind the report and put questions to them. Sections of the report cover a meteorology and climatology summary for the year including significant weather events as well as sea level rise and phenology.
