Imperial college invited Professor Steven Brown of the MRC Mammalian Genetics Unit at Harwell to chair an independent committee to investigate and assess the approach to animal care and welfare across the college. In the publicly available report, the committee made a number of substantive recommendations for improvements and believe their recommendations can be applied beyond Imperial College to the many other universities and science institutions carrying out experimental studies on animals. A roundup of comments was also sent out.
