The Real-time Assessment of Community Transmission (REACT-1) programme is the largest research project looking at viral spread across England. It involved testing 120,000 volunteers for COVID-19 across England between 1 May and 1 June.
The results were posted in preprint form this morning. Journalists who wanted to hear from the scientists who ran this project and ask questions of them dialled into this briefing.
* Please note this was a briefing on a preprint, so it is a preliminary piece of research that has not yet been through peer review and has not been published in a scientific journal – so this is early data. *
Speakers included:
Prof Paul Elliott FMedSci, Director of the programme, and Chair in Epidemiology and Public Health Medicine, Imperial College London
Prof Steven Riley, Professor of Infectious Disease Dynamics, Imperial College London
